The Fifth Annual Moms’ Expo will be held in the evening on Tuesday,
April 11 at the Marshall High School.
Keynote speaker: Holly Hoffman (mother of 3, finalist on the TV show Survivor, author of Your Winner Within and nationally known speaker) on “Never Give Up
– The Survivor Way”. The goal of the
Moms’ Expo is to help mothers of all ages and stages of parenting to enjoy
parenting and everyday life more: by finding balance, having realistic expectations
of themselves and their children, and living in the moment. Join local mothers as they discuss specific

$30 per person – dinner (pasta bar) is included in the fee.
Tiger 7th-8th Grade
Baseball will begin on
Monday, March 27th. Practices will be
held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm-5:30pm and on Wednesdays
from 2:30pm-4:30pm at Independence Park.
Games will be played with area teams.
Participants are responsible for travel to away games. Up-to-date physicals are required and must be
on record. Fee: $90 for residents, $112.50 for non-residents.
ECFE – Baby Play Date for birth-12 months with a parent will be
held on Mondays (March 27, April 24 and May 22) from 10:00-11:30am at Heritage
Pointe Senior Living (207 North 4th Street in Marshall). Heritage Pointe and ECFE are joining hands to
create a Baby Play Date with residents in the Marshall community. This intergenerational class is designed for
parents and their babies to engage and connect with those who have dementia,
learn about the disease and how babies are great therapy for the
residents. There is no cost to
participate, but please pre-register with MCS.
Adult Summer Sand Volleyball Organizational meeting
will be held Monday, March 27 at 6:00pm in the City Council Chambers in the
Municipal Building. Attendance at this
meeting is mandatory if you plan to have a softball team this summer. The season will begin the week of May 8
(weather permitting). For more

Excel for Everyday Use will be held from 7:00pm-9:00pm in the
Marshall Middle School Media Center on Tuesday, March 28 and Thursday, March
30. Microsoft Excel has so many everyday
uses – from lists to budgets and more.
Fee: $45 for residents, $56.25 for non-residents.
Water Safety Instruction (WSI) will be held March 31 through April 2 at
the SMSU Pool and Room PE 214. Class will be held from 5:00pm-10:00pm on
Friday, March 31 and from 9:00am-6:00pm on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April
2. Participants must be 16 years of age. This course will certify participants
to teach swimming lessons. Fee: $200 for
residents, $250 for non-residents
(includes all materials).
Home Ownership 101 will be held on Tuesday, April 4 from
6:30-8:30pm at the Adult Community Center.
This introductory seminar to home ownership is co-sponsored by Southwest
Minnesota Housing Partnership and is ideal for anyone exploring the home buying
process. Learn about the pros and cons
of home ownership, preparing your finances, and determining what type of loan
product may be right for you. Fee: $10
for residents, $12.50 for non-residents.
NEW MCS Class:
Introduction to Cake Decorating 101 will be held on April 6 and April 20
(Thursdays) from 6:30-8:00pm in the Marshall High School FACS Room. You’ll be taught how to base ice, border,
decorate, and write on cakes - while also partaking in a small cupcake
tutorial. Fee: $25 per person.
American HeartSaver Full
CPR/First Aid Training will be held on Saturday, April 8 from 8:30am-3:30pm at the
Marshall North Ambulance Building (111 South A Street). This class is for daycare providers and any
non-health care individuals. Participants
of this class will receive a 2-year certification. Fee: $80 per person.
Pee Wee Tennis Camp (for boys and girls in kindergarten-2nd
grade) will be held April 10-13 (Monday – Thursday) from 4:00pm-5:00pm at the Marshall
High School Tennis Courts. This program
is designed to include fun movement, games and fitness activity. Participants should bring their own tennis
racket and wear proper tennis shoes.
Fee: $50 for residents, $62.50 for non-residents.
Intro to Tennis Camp (for boys and girls in grades 3-9) will be held
April 10-13 (Monday – Thursday) from 5:00pm-6:30pm at the Marshall High School Tennis
Courts. This program is designed to
introduce players to the sport of tennis including scoring, movement and stroke
drills. Participants should bring their own tennis racket and wear proper
tennis shoes. Fee: $80 for residents,
$100 for non-residents.
MCS Red Baron Arena Evening Open Skate will be held on Fridays and Saturdays from
7:00pm-10:00pm and on Sundays from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Open Adult Hockey will be held on Wednesday
evenings from 7:30pm-10:00pm. Admission
for open skate and open hockey is $5 per skater with rental skates available
for $3. SMSU Open Skate will be held on
Sunday evenings in the Reinhart Rink from 8:00-9:00pm for $5 (admission and
rental included). Family Open Skate will
be held on Saturdays from 2:00-4:00pm for only $4 per person. Coupon books for Open Skate and Skate
Sharpening punch cards are available to purchase at the Red Baron Arena &
Expo, in the Marshall Community Services office or online at www.ci.marshall.mn.us.
Marshall Middle School After School Program is open to all 5th-8th
grade students and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:05pm-5:00pm at the
Marshall Middle School. This program
will run through the end of the school year – for only $40!
