MHS CTL: Team Rises to the Occasion in LW4
Members of the Marshall High School Clay Target League team (MHS CTL) came out to shoot in week four of the fall session of the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League (MN CTL), including Senior Alex Verkinderen and Eighth Grader Caiden Smidt, who posted their first perfect rounds in the penultimate week of competition.
Along with Junior Eric Leach, Smidt and Verkinderen logged totals of 47 for a second-place finish on the week behind Junior Nick Atcher, with team leading total of 48. Junior Tylar Holmgren rounded out the top five with a total of 46, posted on a pair of 23s. Top shooters for MHS CTL in League Week Four were:

“It was exciting to watch Alex and Caiden achieve perfection,” said Coach Don Atcher, “things came together for them and the entire team as our scores were much improved over last week,” he concluded.
On the performance, MHS CTL moves up to fifth overall in Conference 9A shooting after the fourth league week.
MHS CTL is coached by a staff of 13 volunteers, and supported by a number of parents who help instruct, score and supervise 21 youth in the fall and 80 in the spring.
