New Library Construction!
Phase I of the new library construction is
set to begin this spring. Here’s an estimate of the schedule:
March – April 2010
Architect to prepare construction bid documents for Phase I
May 2010
Library Board and City Council to approve bid documents;
bids are solicited for Phase I construction
June 2010
City Council opens bids and awards contract for Phase I
July 2010
Construction of Phase I begins
Late Spring early summer 2011
Construction complete for Phase I;
Library moves to the new building
2010 – 2011
Fund raising continues for Phase II (expanded Children’s area)
